Fundraisers

The Troop has 3 major fundraising efforts that we currently conduct. During one week of the summer, we help at the TPC of Michigan for the Ford Senior Players Championship. Later in the summer, just before the start of the Scouting year, we conduct our troop annual Golf Outing. Our final fundrasing project is a combined project, we sell Holiday Greens, and Boy Scout Popcorn.

Just as in any organization, Troop 1131 needs money to function. The troop conducts several fundraisers, keeping in mind that they should:

Be community oriented, Promote leadership skills, Compliment the scout ideals

Past fundraising projects have included:

Greens / Popcorn sales

Bottle/can drives

Car Wash

Pancake Breakfast

Tupperware

Soup & Salad Luncheon

Fundraising projects are designed to bring money in to the troop both for troop expenses such as camping fees and new equipment, and for the individual scout’s account. The boys receive direct credit into their account based on the amount of their participation in the fundraisers.

(We are always looking for good fundraiser ideas!)

For each fundraiser during the Scout year, the total profit will be divided among the troop and the personal account of the scout according to the following rules:

Type of Fundraiser

Escrow Account

Troop Account

Greens Sale

80%

20%

BSA Popcorn Sale

80%

20%

TPC Golf Outing

80%

20%

Summercamp cost are approx. $225.00 each year. The more items you sell, the more profits go into your escrow account. Don't forget that the Troop announce in the spring what type of contribution that we will make towards summercamp .
