SCOUT'S HONOR: It's a dirty job, but someone had to do it. The Boy Scouts and their troop leaders once again were out in force -- and in full-kerchiefed uniforms -- carting trash on maintenance vehicles during the tournament. For their efforts, the Scouts kept the recycling they collected and received passes to the tournament.

Committee Member Mr. Lens caught in the act

Mr. Lens decided to dance and sing Twist & Shout at Trail to Eagle for misplacing some of his personal items. Blue Troop found them, and the performance was just for them. Boy does he look silly. Click on pictures for a larger view

Troop Van received new lettering

While at the Ford Senior Players Championship at the TPC, the Troop was able to receive a donation of lettering to put on the van. The decals say "Boy Scout Troop 1131" and "Dearborn, MI" under it. On the back door, we have a special decal, saying that we are chartered by the first Presbyterian Church of Dearborn.

Congratulations to Steven, for completing his Ordeal at the Cole Canoe Base Summer Conclave, during the weekend of June 2 - 4. Steven Joined 39 other candidates, and 50 members to help prep Cole for summercamp. There was plenty of wood chipping, tree trimming, building two new latrines, moving a split rail fence at the archary range, and so much more. Cole Canoe Base is now ready for summercamp.

On the weekend of April 21 - 23 , 2006, two members of our Troop completed their induction into the Order of the Arrow. The Troop would like to congratulate Alex, and Ben on this high honor. Both of these guys were selected by the all of the youth in the Troop. We look forward towards the rest of the guys that were elected, to also complete their ordeal.

This induction does mark the last offical event that Ben will be undertaking with Troop 1131. We wish Ben all the best with his new Troop.

Congratulations to Brian T., Who sealed his membership in the order, by becoming a Brotherhood member.

Congratulations

Make sure that you congratulate the Younger Mr. Fox. He was tapped out at the 2005 Fall Conclave to recieve the Order's highest honor; the Vigil Honor. He was selected with 10 other members to recieve this Honor. Take a look at the Lodges' website for more info. On Saturday October 30, Mr K. Fox finished his process to become a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow. As many of you have seen, he has been wearing a wooden "cookie". Some of the youth have even flipped his "cookie". The final process was "Sitting" his Vigil. He did so by watchinghis fire, and not lettingit burn out. The process started Friday night, and completed Saturday morning. If you have a chance, congratulate him. He was given an Indian name of: Wulatenamuwi Nitis Mikemossit which is interpreted as "Cheerful Friend and Worker".
